I use to work up at a Christian camp (Hume Lake), and I worked in the Huckleberry House, which was nursery/preschool ages 0-5. Last October I was up at a women's retreat, and the students from their college program served the tables. My server was one of the boys I use to babysit in the Huckleberry House :/ There was even an old staff picture hanging up on one of the walls with both of us in it to prove it! That made me feel soooooooo old. Things like this seem to be happening more and more nowadays!
Everyone goes to Hume Lake!!! goodness!!! (do you know Darin McWatters?) holy cow. in cyberstalking him i learned he's no longer there but at a church about 15 mins away from me
I use to! I actually worked with his wife, Shannon, in the Huckleberry house one year. I knew them pretty well at one point, but we're talking about 14 years ago! (My mom was a full time staff there in the office, so I worked up there in my high school years during summers and on weekends).
oh wow, that's about how long ago I met him too. I was like everybodyduck's biggest fan!! (ok I was still in elementary school but my uncles were their biggest fans). I never knew him personally, but if you look at the everybodyduck CDs you can find 2 of my uncles listed on the thanks. And I can say that when they all came back together to do a concert at my uncle's church someone from that band melted tupperware in my grandma's oven.
That is Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, CO (aka home!) I'm stuck in CA, but I lived in COS a couple of years ago and fell in love. With the people. The scenery. The weather. and compassion international!

ReplyDeleteThat hasn't happened yet, so does that mean I'm still young? :) Thanks for visiting my blog. I love the photo at the top of yours!
